As per the joint report by UNESCO and WHO, there are 1.2 billion people without any footwear whatsoever, while more than 350 million pairs of shoes are discarded each year. Greensole started in 2013 when its founders, Mr. Shriyans Bhandari and Mr. Ramesh Dhami thought of refurbishing the intact soles of quality old shoes into comfortable footwear and providing them to people in need. While doing so, it fulfills a threefold objective of contributing to environmental good; by keeping non-biodegradable shoes out of landfills, social good; by giving basic necessity of footwear to the people in need and and economic good; by giving employment to refurbish shoes. The efforts have brought a smile to 72,000 beneficiaries so far.
